Bearing capacity of concrete blocks subjected to extraction force
Abstract
The ultimate bearing capacity of concrete sphere-shaped anchors subjected to extraction force is considered. Field tests were conducted to establish several representative relationships for the case of shallow foundations. During extraction, the force was gradually increased and ground surface displacements were measured in two profiles perpendicular to one another. The extraction force was calculated using the finite element method. Results obtained during testing are compared with those obtained by numerical analysis.
